Over the holiday weekend I popped one of Amy’s frozen pizzas (personal serving size) into my pre-heated oven. 10 to 12 minutes later, I was enjoying a truly excellent meal.

This variation is topped with spinach and feta cheese and contains only 440 calories. It wasn’t greasy and felt very lightweight.

Ingredients (according to the package)

Organic unbleached wheat flour with organic wheat bran

Filtered water

Organic tomato puree

Part-skim mozzarella cheese

Organic spinach

Extra virgin olive oil

Feta cheese

Organic onions

Organic tofu

Honey

Sea salt

Organic garlic spices

Expeller pressed high oleic safflower and/or sunflower oil

Organic evaporated cane juice

Yeast

Black pepper

I am impressed with this ingredient listing. Totally natural and totally awesome in a pinch, especially if you don’t feel like prepping your own meal.

If you examine the rest of the Amy’s line, you’ll find that they don’t have anything with meat toppings. Other national brands providing organic & natural options place those products alongside their standard brands. Sometimes they toss commodity meats onto their natural food, which is a real shame. Amy’s side-steps that by only offering vegetarian, mostly-organic frozen pizza.
