CSA life must be a busy one

In a previous post, I mentioned that I had joined a CSA for the 2010 season.

On my way home from volunteering at the farm, yesterday, I remarked at how time-consuming that kind of operation must be.

This time of year they are tilling, planting, weeding, and harvesting … enough food for one dozen families to eat. And on top of that, they have farmer’s market duties.

Speaking of which, I saw them at the Meridian farmer’s market on Saturday.

That’s Christine on the left and Phil on the right.

Spinach and lettuce are mainstays early in the Michigan growing season.

Along with rhubarb and garlic sprouts.
